Technology Showcase

Thank you for viewing my Technology Showcase! It is great to be able to share a few of the accomplishments I have had throughout my time in the Michigan State Master of Art in Educational Technology Program. If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to ask.

Learning with Technology

Technology  Vision Prezi

In this first semester assignment, I created a Prezi presentation to display my own vision for technology in schools and my own classroom. While I have expanded on this greatly over the past few years, this was my starting point when beginning the MAET program. Technology has a huge impact on our everyday lives and as educators, it can and should be used in our everyday classroom lives to promote learning as well.

Professional Learning Plan

This Animoto video displays what my Professional Learning Plan looks like now. When I started with the MAET program, I was unfamiliar with many of these tools, programs, or social media sites that are used for educational purposes. When I created this video, it was to show the growth that I have made as a student and a teacher.

Course Blog

This blog was used as a way to demonstrate our learning through many courses of the MAET program and to share with our peers. Some of the above projects are included in here, but there are many more projects, reflections, and ideas here as well.

Hattie Prezi Presentation

In this Prezi presentation, I explored John Hattie's 6 Factors that Influence Student Achievement: the home, the child, the school, the teacher, approaches to eaching, and the curriculum.  This knowledge of this helps me focus on the individual student and the needs each student has.

Wicked Problem Project

This assignment was a major project that completed the graduate certificate in Educational Technology.  The goal of the Wicked Problem Project was to find a problem within my classroom, create a solution using technology, and evaluate. I created a video presentation (above) to showcase the project. Independent Reading time in my classroom was not going as well as I hoped, I implemented Raz-kids to encourage reading and results of students more engaged in reading increased.

Teaching Weebly Website

This website is a "how to" site for creating a Weebly site for the classroom. Oddly, it is made using Weebly! This was a group project created within an MAET course.

Teaching with Technology

Stand Alone Instructional Lesson (StAIR)
Blackboard CourseSites Online Class

This is a Stand Alone Instructional Resource (StAIR) created using Powerpoint to teach a 3rd grade science lesson on identifying the different types of trees. The concept behind this lesson is that students can communicate and receive feedback throughout the lesson. It is not intended as a lesson that a teacher would not be present for to help explain things, but the students may navigate on their own.

** When you click on the above link, it will direct you to the MERLOT site where this is stored. Then click on "Go to Material" to view the actual STAIR.

Click above to view an online course that I build using Blackboard Course Sites. This is a 4th Grade unit on the West Region of the United States.

Colonial  Williamsburg Webquest

This Colonial Williamsburg Webquest was created for my student teaching class. It was intended as a 5th grade supplemental project for Social Studies while in the computer lab. Because I wasn't teaching Social Studies, I wanted to incorporate this into my student teaching experience.

4th Grade Math Lesson

This is a multi-purpose video create using a combination of Powerpoint, jing, and screencast. The original purpose was when applying for the Learn Zillion dream team to make more of these educational videos. I was not chosen, but was left with this great video that I am able to use in my own class as an instructional tool when teaching area and perimeter.
